Manager, Digital Community & Content

The Manager of Digital Community & Content will lead the development and execution of all global content initiatives on communications channels. This position will lead a creative team of professionals responsible for sharing the Company’s story via owned channels and growing brand awareness and affinity with key target audiences including media, industry influencers, enthusiasts, customers, employees, elected officials, and public and private partners.
Job Responsibilities
Content Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital content strategy to achieve specific business outcomes
  • Regularly analyze the big picture of content to identify deviation from, or areas for improvement in, content strategy
  • Create and oversee the editorial guidelines that ensure a consistent brand voice and accessible formats for the different types of content

Channel Management

  • Integrate Communications’ social media platforms, corporate intranet and other collaboration tools to facilitate cross-channel user journeys, and work to integrate all digital channel initiatives across the organization
  • Keep abreast of channel trends to understand where stakeholders are most active and adapt strategy accordingly
  • Manage and approve publication of Communications content to organizational platforms and social accounts, optimizing publication cadence for audiences
  • Leverage all channels to build affinity for the company among external and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of digital channels and social media programs

Audience Engagement

  • Lead efforts to build online communities and target online outreach programs to key stakeholders
  • Drive user engagement and participation with digital platforms
  • Expand Textron Aviation’s influencer relations strategy and creative collaborations to amplify reach. Identify, negotiate, and contract influencers as part of branded content programs.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to develop a thorough understanding of stakeholder motivations, preferences and opinions, and use these to improve channel usability

Team Leadership

  • Coach, grow and develop the Communications Content team
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and mindset of high performance that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Collaborate across teams to break down content planning and production silos in the function
  • Coach other communicators in digital content creation and targeted social media usage
  • Educate business partners and leaders on how to integrate and align digital channels with specific business outcomes
  • Manage Communications vendor and agency relationships to drive efficient and effective projects
  • Report key metrics and KPIs on content and channel performance to continuously grow impact
  • Manage budget and resource allocation needs of the Communications Content team

Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Public Relations, Business Management, Marketing, Journalism, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of relative experience required, 3+ years at management level

Qualificatons

  • Relevant experience in strategic integrated communications management in a corporate setting.
  • Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, including the ability to represent the company in large, community and industry settings and in digital applications
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence within all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders; demonstrated ability to build collaborations
  • Ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze information, recommend and direct courses of action to be taken
  • Excellent project management skills to include organizing, planning and execution experience, including experience managing outside partners and vendors
  • Motivated, detail-oriented and self-directed to deliver high-quality results
  • Creativity, interpersonal savvy and the ability to manage diversity
  • Developer of talent with experience in creating and growing teams of individual contributors and managers
  • Job is located in Wichita, Kansas, and may include domestic and international travel (20%)
