To learn more, visit wawanesa.com.<br><br>We are currently looking for dedicated, driven, and enthusiastic individuals who thrive in an environment that welcomes change and are looking for an opportunity for diverse experience and advancement on a growing team.<br><br><strong>Job Overview<br><br></strong>Under direction and supervision of the Manager, Financial and Oversight Function Audits the Audit Assistant helps with conducting financial and operational audits of Executive Office functions, to assess the adequacy of internal controls, the overall effectiveness of operations and to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.<br><br>This is a student term position, with a start date of September 8, 2026 and end date of December 18, 2026.<br><br>Job Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li>Performs routine audit procedures, including identifying issues, assisting with defining issues, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and procedures. </li><li>Conducts interviews, reviews documents, develops surveys/memos, and prepares electronic work papers. </li><li>Identifies and documents routine issues and develops recommendations using department procedures, supervisor/leader assistance, and independent judgement. </li><li>Assists with communicating the results of audits using documented work papers and oral presentations to peers, and supervisor/leader. </li><li>Maintains and assists with development of positive working relationships with key internal clients and stakeholders. </li><li>Assists with representing Internal Audit on project teams and at management meetings. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Assistant Manager, Financial Audits. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Second or Third year student with an accounting major. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. </li><li>Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Team player with the ability to work independently when required. </li><li>Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information. </li><li>Good working knowledge with MS Office, particularly Excel. </li><li>Friendly, flexible, and positive attitude. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Wawanesa is proud to be one of Manitoba’s Top Employers, a Kincentric Best Employer in Canada and a Forbes Best Employer in Canada recognizing an exceptional place to work!<br><br></strong>We provide our students with a <strong>respectful</strong>, <strong>challenging</strong>, and <strong>rewarding </strong>work environment.
