<p><strong>Job Title: TIG Welder</strong><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>This role focuses on precision sheet metal TIG welding, requiring the ability to read and interpret prints and weld symbols to build accurate assemblies within tight tolerances. You will work closely with production control, quality, and other shop personnel to complete assignments and resolve welding or quality issues while consistently following welding safety practices and OSHA requirements.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Perform TIG welding on precision sheet metal components and assemblies to meet specified tolerances and quality standards.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to accurately plan and execute welds.</li><li>Build assemblies from sheet metal parts, ensuring dimensional accuracy and adherence to engineering specifications.</li><li>Use MIG welding when required to support production needs and complete assigned projects.</li><li>Collaborate with management, production control, quality, and other shop departments to coordinate work assignments and resolve welding or quality issues.</li><li>Follow established welding safety procedures and comply with OSHA requirements at all times.</li><li>Set up and operate welding equipment and related tools to support efficient and accurate fabrication.</li><li>Work in a machine shop environment with multiple departments, adapting to workflow and production schedules.</li><li>Stand for 8–10 hours per day and safely perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs.</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>At least 5 years of experience in precision sheet metal welding.</li><li>Proficiency in TIG welding, with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds.</li><li>Ability to read and understand prints, blueprints, and weld symbols to build assemblies within specified tolerances.</li><li>Firm knowledge of welding safety practices and OSHA requirements.</li><li>Experience with MIG welding in a production or fabrication environment.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings in English.</li><li>Capability to stand for 8–10 hours per day and safely lift up to 40 lbs.</li><li>Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the shift.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with sheet metal welding in a machine shop environment.</li><li>Familiarity with sheet metal hardware and manufacturers, including PEM, Southco, and Helicoils.</li><li>Background in fabrication and machine shop operations.</li><li>Experience with lathe operation, including L-300 M lathe, programming, and set-up.</li><li>Exposure to CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks and Mastercam.</li><li>Strong communication skills to work effectively with production control, quality, and other shop personnel.</li><li>Interest in long-term growth and development within a stable manufacturing environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>You will join a stable, low-turnover team where many employees have built long tenures of 10–15 years, reflecting a supportive and consistent work culture.
