DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic technology leader who will be responsible for leading our product and user experience teams. This leader will define and execute innovative initiatives that will improve the way Amazon customer interact and utilize Alexa while in in their car. The role involves thinking big, building foundational solutions while innovating on customer experience. It also involves helping with the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and driving initiatives to guide the career growth of their team members.

As a Principal Product Manager you will be a leader with massive impact. You’ll help establish product and UX standards and drive Amazon Smart Vehicle's overall product roadmap and best in class product development practices. You’ll work on Amazon’s hardest problems, building high quality, customer focused products that are aligned with our business needs. You’ll think globally when building, ensuring Amazon builds high performing, scalable systems that fit well together. Amazon Principal Product Managers are visionaries who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions. Your expertise is deep and broad; you are hands on, while being able to drive a long term strategy.

  • Serve as a product lead on our most demanding, cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure the quality of our design systems that meet best in class customer experience.
  • Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
  • Fully and completely understand system inter-dependencies and limitations.
  • Possess expert knowledge in product scalability and product management best practices.
  • Effectively research and benchmark Amazon technology against other competing systems in the industry.
  • Drive product strategy in a clear and concise manner across partner internal and external teams.
  • Be the ultimate champion for the end customer to ensure that our external partners meet the high bar of being an Amazon Alexa product.
  • Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on product issues and helping your team on career growth.
  • Exert influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.

About the team
Here at Amazon, we believe voice is a big part of the future. It’s only been a few years since we launched Echo and Alexa, but customers are already using Alexa to do all kinds of things. As Alexa has become more natural and more useful for customers, we’ve started looking at ways to extend that experience beyond the home. Our goal is to make Alexa available to customers wherever they want to interact with her, and auto represents an especially exciting opportunity for us. Amazon Smart Vehicles' team partners with automakers, suppliers, and solution integrators. We are at the forefront of an automotive disruption driven by connectivity, autonomy, shared ownership, and electrification and our engagements span 100-year-old companies (BMW, Ford, Toyota) and startups (Rivian, Lucid, Fisker).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of team management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering
  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing tasks
  • MBA

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
