Role Summary/Purpose:

Senior Analyst, Sam's Club Analytics (individual contributor) role is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH). Our Analytics team comprises of data analysts who focus on improving customer/product/digital/ journey experience etc. and growth by providing full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics via cutting edge technologies to support business objectives. Seeking intellectually curious candidate with a passion for delivering impact in the sales and marketing analytics world, capable of problem solving and working independently. The selected candidate will be part of Sam's Club Analytics team and will be responsible for executing segmentation strategies, identifying actionable portfolio insights, developing strategic recommendations, and client reporting in order, to drive growth, thought leadership & Innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop actionable insights on key business drivers and identify revenue opportunities using data visualization and storytelling
  • Execute segmentation strategies including those that support dormancy, sales potential and others; explore new ways of segmentation to drive growth
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide recommendations to optimize targeting and ROI
  • Use internal and external data to develop strategic recommendations to grow share of wallet and maximize profitability
  • Proactively propose, initiate & execute strategic open-ended/ambiguous problems
  • Deep dive and deliver on Ad-hoc & Strategic projects
  • Thought Leadership / Ability to self-complete projects with less guidance
  • Create/Maintain and deliver solutions/reports to allow business partners and external customers to self-service and empower them to run their business

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 2+ years of hands-on relevant analytics/data science experience. Minimum 4+ years of hands-on relevant work experience in lieu of specified degree.
  • 2+ years of hands-on Experience in SQL/SAS/Python/Open-Source Tools with ability to independently build queries for data extraction & aggregation.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience of latest Analytics Data Visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Comprehend key concepts & processes in Retail/BFSI domains, translate them into quantitative attributes/metrics.
  • Ability to Define Methodology, present insights to larger teams and influence decision making.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and proactively propose the solutions.
  • Adherence to timely delivery, accuracy and documentation in line with Audit Procedures.

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to manage complex/ambiguous initiatives.
  • Good working knowledge of statistical and data science concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint with superior data analyses and story boarding skills.
