Accounts Payable Accountant

<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>Polaris Wireless is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to manage our account's payable function. The ideal candidate will bring experience in multi-currency conversion and a strong understanding of GAAP principles, sales and use tax rules, and W-9/1099 filing requirements.</p><p><br></p><p>You will collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals during annual audits and provide reconciliation schedules related to AP and liability accruals. We are looking for a detail-oriented, passionate individual contributor who can work independently and take ownership of this function.<strong> </strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Specific responsibilities will include:</strong></p><ul><li>Review and post all expense reports and vendor invoices in QuickBooks</li><li>Prepare wire transfers and check batches for disbursement cycles</li><li>Prepare required forms for contractors/non-employees for annual IRS reporting</li><li>Maintain vendor agreements, payable files, and W-9 documentation</li><li>Review and post accruals for contractor expenses, general accruals, and other expenses</li><li>Maintain fixed asset sub-ledger and depreciation schedules</li><li>Prepare annual property tax returns</li><li>Prepare and file sales and use tax returns</li><li>Prepare and file annual 1099 forms</li><li>Assist with annual audit procedure</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>The individual should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or related fields and a minimum of 3 years' work related experiences.</p><p><br></p><ul><li>3–5 years of experience in accounts payable operations</li><li>Strong knowledge of QuickBooks software</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)</li><li>Solid understanding of GAAP principles</li><li>Knowledge of sales and use tax rules, W-9, and 1099 filing requirements</li><li>Understanding of foreign exchange gains/losses and multi-currency accounting</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail and accuracy</li><li>Ability to work independently</li></ul><p><br></p><p>This position is located in Santa Clara, CA.
